Great sound, great upload. Thanks!
You might recognize Hefti's name from the credits of the old Batman series of the 1960s. --He was the composer of that show's classic theme.

This is a new group to me although the name Neil Hefti rings a musical bell. He was a stellar arranger in this era and had his own band which played some fine ensemble work. Phillips is the master of the soft sax sound with solid backing by Chubby Jackson on bass. The sound is reminisent of the Goodman small groups of the late '30's. Great stuff! VinMurph
